My Daily Vitamin and Supplement Regimen for Controlling my PCOS!

These are the Supplements I Take Daily:

One a day: Rainbow Light Prenatal One

Why I use it: Prenatal One contains essential nutrients in potencies that deliver optimal nourishment and protection for moms and babies throughout pregnancy and nursing, including 30 milligrams of iron to support metabolism and red blood cell production, 400 IU of vitamin D2 to promote healthy bones and teeth, plus 100 milligrams of vitamin C and 4,000 IU of vitamin A to support skin, eye, and immune health. The multivitamin also provides 800 micrograms of folic acid, which is critical for preventing birth defects and promotes healthy new cells and brain, skull, and spinal development. High-potency B-complex vitamins provide natural energy, and promote cell development and stress and immune support.
I buy it here: http://www.amazon.com/Rainbow-Light-Prenatal-Multivitamin-150-Count/dp/B00115BJ30/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1395358534&sr=8-2&keywords=rainbow+light+prenatal+one

One a day: Calcium,Magnesium,Zinc
up&up Calcium/Magnesium/Zinc Tablets - 250 Count

One a day: Folic Acid 400 mcg
up&up Folic Acid 400 mcg Tablets - 250 Count
Why I use it:Preliminary evidence suggests that folic acid supplementation may help treat ovulatory infertility one of the major complications of PCOS. Folic acid has a protective effect against neural tube defects that occur in early pregnancy, so women with PCOS trying to get pregnant should take at least 400 mg of folic acid daily.

One a day: Cod Liver Oil

Why I use it: The oil is commonly taken as a dietary supplement. It is one of the best sources of omega 3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) and contains relatively high amounts of vitamin A and vitamin D. Cod liver oil is thought to help relieve joint stiffness associated with arthritis, have a positive effect on cardiovascular health, and help repair wounded teeth, nails, hair, and skin.Eating essential fatty acids (EFA’s) helps you to lose weight, produce balanced hormones, and creates a healthy environment for conception.

Twice a day: Pregnancy Prep By Vitanica
Why I take it: Many women need support in preparation for and during their pregnancy. Basic concepts to enhance this process include promoting improved ovulation, supporting fertilization and implantation of the egg, supporting tone of the uterus, supporting improved circulation, and promoting optimal uterine health. Some of the herbs in this formulation have been time honored in traditional botanical usage and others have been studied in modern research for their ability to promote ovulation, normalize progesterone levels and improve pregnancy rates.

Top Fertility Superfoods!

These are the Top Fertility Enhancing Superfoods for better Health and Better chances of getting Pregnant:

1. Broccoli:Broccoli is a great source of folic acid, which most of us already know is essential to a healthy pregnancy.  Broccoli is also high in vitamin C, which is used by the ovaries to mature eggs and ensure ovulation.

2.Cabbage:Cabbage contains a phytonutrient called Di-Indole Methane (DIM). DIM helps with estrogen metabolism and prevents fibroids, which are a potential cause of infertility. DIM has also been shown to reduce the chances of developing endometriosis.

3. Yams:Yams could help improve female fertility by providing the nutritional support necessary for healthy ovulation. It's possible that yams fool the brain into thinking that there isn't enough estrogen, so you produce more, which is key to healthy fertility. (if you make too much estrogen I'd avoid too much of this food)

4. Avocados:Avocados are a rich source of vitamin E, which is necessary for the motility of sperm. Vitamin E also helps reduce DNA defects of sperm, defects which can contribute to miscarriages. Higher levels of vitamin E have shown to make sperm more fertile.

5. Egg Yolks:Egg yolks are especially rich in choline. Choline helps protect against neural tube defects, like Spina Bifida and anencephaly – yet most women don't get enough choline. So grab those eggs and get crackin'. :)

6. Salmon:Abundant in essential fatty acids (also known as omega-3s), salmon is a great fish for fertility, as long as it comes from a good source. Women who have already had a child tend to be deficient in omega-3s because the previous child depleted most of their supply. Wild-caught salmon is best, and unlike other fish – like tuna and swordfish – salmon doesn't pose the risk of containing toxic levels of mercury.

7. Pumpkin Seeds:Pumpkin seeds are a fabulous source of zinc, which helps assist in healthy sperm and egg development. Proper levels of zinc is essential at the time of conception, because it plays a role in normal cell division at the embryonic stage. Other foods that are high in zinc are almonds, rye, peas, and oats.

8.Leafy Greens:Leafy greens are high in both folic acid and iron. The benefits of folic acid are well known, and include preventing certain birth defects and promoting sperm health and egg development. Iron helps build a strong endometrial lining, which helps the zygote successfully attach itself to the uterus and hang on for the next nine months.

9.Sprouts:Sprouts help create a more alkaline environment in your body, which is especially good for the cervical mucus because it needs to be alkaline (as apposed to acidic) for sperm to survive there.

10. Full Fat,Natural Yogurt:Like olive oil, full-fat yogurt is rich in the good saturated fat particularly needed for fertility. And it's also a great source of beneficial bacteria, which is good for you and for a developing fetus.

11. Cod Liver Oil:I know, it sounds gross. But cod liver oil is loaded with essential omega-3s that help regulate hormones, increase good cervical fluid, and even protect sperm from damaging free radicals. It's naturally occurring and liquid forms are best, but it also comes in capsule form.

12.Flax Seeds: Flax seeds are great for balancing hormones and boosting fertility. They contain lignans, which are associated with reduced fibroids and increased fertility.

13.Seaweed:Seaweed is high in iodine, which can decrease the risk of infertility and miscarriage. And iodine affects brain development of the fetus.

14. Garlic: Garlic contains an abundance of fertility-boosting nutrients, including selenium, which is an antioxidant that supports healthy conception and protects the embryo from early miscarriage.
Fertility Superfoods and What to Eat When Trying to Get Pregnant
15.Liver:The thought of it might gross you out, but liver is one of the most nutrient dense foods on the planet! It's loaded with vitamins vital for healthy fertility, including iron for the prevention of miscarriage and anemia of the mother, and B12 for the healthy formation of red blood cells and DNA. Happy eating!

Favorite Hair-care Products!

When it comes to hair care i feel like I'm always in a trial stage, I tend to try different products and then i know i like a product if i go back and buy it again and these products I'm gonna list are from that category :) I liked them so much i bought it again or I intend too!

Favorite Shampoo and Conditioner: Rejuvenating Cherry Blossom Ginseng Shampoo and conditioner By Organix. The whole Organix brand i love, but i picked this scent as my favorite cause i can actually smell it on my hair after washing which is always nice. Plus i believe this brand is all natural, I'll have to check to see if that's true but that's one of the reasons i like it! You can buy this all over now, walmart,target,wegmans...etc.

My Favorite thing to use for scalp health and keeping the dandruff away and making sure my hair doesn't fall out as much from PCOS is this tea tree essential oil. I add two drops to my shampoo and shake it up and it really has made my scalp less itchy and i have noticed less hair fall out :) Usually i would brush my hair and some hair would fall out, but now i haven't noticed it doing that anymore!
I bought my essential tea tree oil from amazon here: http://www.amazon.com/Tree-Melaleuca-Therapeutic-Grade-Essential/dp/B002RTV4Y8/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1395282669&sr=8-4&keywords=tea+tree+oil

My Favorite After dyeing my hair treatment or if my hair is just not as soft or the day before i did a lot of heat damage to it treatment :) My Favorite is the 3 minute miracle by aussie, it smells tropical and it literally makes your hair super soft :) Love it! This product can also be found everywhere walmart,target...etc.
My Favorite Heat Protection Spray: Tresemme Platinum Strength Heat Protection Spray :) It has a spray that is light and doesn't weigh down hair, it smells super good and protects the hair from damage from any hot tools or blow-drying you might have to do to your hair.
I have yet to find a good dry shampoo i like that doesn't run out too fast and smells good. If you have any recommendations :) Leave me a Comment :)

All About D Chiro Inositol and Myo-Inositol benefits for PCOS!

D-Chiro Inositol (DCI):
In one study, 44 overweight women with PCOS were given a daily 1,200mg dose of D-chiro inositol for six to eight weeks. During the course of the study, those who took DCI displayed significant improvements in insulin sensitivity, blood pressure, and triglyceride levels, as well as a marked decrease in serum testosterone levels. Moreover, 19 of 22 subjects receiving DCI ovulated during the study period, compared to only 6 of 22 in the placebo group.

So the highlights of D-Chiro Inositol are:
Improved Insulin sensitivity
Lower Blood Pressure
Lowered Triglyceride Levels
Decreased Testosterone levels
Likely to induce Ovulation
Also Appears to be Highly effective when taken in combination with Metformin

Myo-Inositol:
Like DCI, it is a key factor in insulin signaling, and serves also as a precursor to DCI in endogenous inositol metabolism. It should then come as no surprise that studies using myoinositol in women with PCOS produced results as promising as those obtained with DCI.
A Double-blind study used a placebo-controlled investigation where 42 women with PCOS were studied, subjects receiving myo-inositol fared much better when compared to the placebo group, displaying decreases in testosterone, triglycerides, and blood pressure; a significant improvement in insulin sensitivity; and a greatly increased frequency of ovulation. In another study, 20 women with PCOS were given either 2 grams of myo-inositol plus 200 mcg folic acid, or a placebo of 200 mcg folic acid daily. After 12 weeks, the women taking myo-inositol showed improved insulin sensitivity and androgen levels. Strikingly, all the subjects receiving myo-inositol returned to normal menstrual cycles (Genazzani 2008). Another study with Myo-Inositol paired with Folic acid also showed weight loss in the study group along with the other benefits like better skin appearance and improved Hirsutism.

Highlights of Myo-Inositol:
Decreased Testosterone Levels
Lowered Triglyceride Levels
Lowered BloodPressure
Greatly Increased Ovulation
Improved Insulin Sensitivity

Highlights of Myo-Inositol with Folic acid (known as Pregnitude):
Improved insulin sensitivity
Lowered Androgen Levels
Normalized Menstural cycles
Weight loss
improved skin
improved Hirsutism

My Skin Care Regimen for Breakouts and Anti-Aging :)

Hey Guys :) I know with PCOS Acne can be a huge hormonal pain! and I'm not saying my regimen is best or that my skin never gets breakouts anymore, but i figured i love hearing about other girls skin routine especially what products they use and what works for them, so i figured I'd tell you what works for my skin, where i got the idea and where i bought it :)

Here is my nightly Routine:

I bought  9-5 cleansing lotion made by lush ( 3.4 oz bottle)
I put one drop of frankincense essential oil in it
Then after cleansing all my makeup off with the cleanser and oil mixture i put on my Elizabeth Grant Biocollasis Complex Cell Vitality Renewal Night Serum on and go to bed :)

This routine made my pimples dry up and now i only break out before my period, plus my skin is less dry and now its soft too. My Skin also looks healthier/tighter. I got the idea of using that essential oil from what I saw on The Moms View on Youtube, there was a woman on and she adds this essential oil to her face and she talked about how it prevents wrinkles, improves scaring and keeps breakouts at bay (PLUS her skin was beautiful and she talked about how she used to have a scar on her face and i saw nothing on it)
Now Essential oils tend to be really safe to use topically but as always discuss all new products you want to use with your doctor because they might not be safe during pregnancy or they might interact with a medication you may be on, so just always run it by your doctor first.

Here is the youtube video about natural beauty remedies:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_cvmBxnzCbc

Here is where i bought the essential oil from:
http://www.amazon.com/Frankincense-Essential-Undiluted-Therapeutic-Grade/dp/B005V4ZOT2/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1395185006&sr=8-3&keywords=frankensence+essential+oil

Here is the facial cleanser i have from Lush:

And Here is the Night serum i use: (i got it for Christmas)

What helped me get my periods regularly!

So i have had irregular periods since the age of 10 and I'm almost 24 now. I just recently after 2 miscarriages found out i have PCOS and with this diagnosis, i looked for anything i could do to naturally help my body get back on track. I started Juicing, I switched to a mostly all organic food diet including grass fed and antibiotic free meats and eggs. With these changes i noticed i felt better and with the juicing i noticed a nice decrease in weight for the first time in a long time! But until recently i still had irregular periods, even when i tried metformin it didn't help my body, my cycles still didn't regulate, then i figured i want to go off that medicine and go the natural route. I found a book on herbal medicines in barnes n noble and read about the benefits of different herbs and the effects it has on the reproductive system in women and i found red raspberry leaf and chaste tree to be very interesting and after looking on amazon a little bit i found a supplement that sounded promising and that supplement was Pregnancy Prep by Vitanica.

I started it and the first month i got my period and then the following month i had my first normal length cycle of 31 days! :) I'm glad to say i also checked with the healthtap app where you can ask dr's there opinion for free about anything and they said this product is great at helping to get your period. If any of you out there are having this problem i'd say give this supplement a try. Don't however continue it after you find out you are pregnant, it hasn't been tested to see if it's safe during pregnancy, so i wouldn't risk it. But to jump start your periods i'd recommend it :)! Check with you doctor first, but i don't see how it could hurt :)
Here's where i bought Pregnancy Prep:
http://www.amazon.com/Vitanica-Pregnancy-Reproductive-Vegetarian-Capsules/dp/B00161EUMQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1395127592&sr=8-1&keywords=pregnancy+prep+vitanica
